Booking Conditions

  • By making a booking, you are agreeing to our booking conditions
  • If you book more than 2 months in advance we require 20% deposit (£10 minimum).
  • The balance will then be due eight weeks in advance.
  • If you book between 2 months and 1 week in advance full payment is due at time of booking.
  • If you book less than 1 week in advance we need your credit card details.
  • If you book on-line via HostelWorld / HostelBookers, their booking conditions override ours.
  • Special conditions apply for New Year bookings.

Cancellation (total or part)

  • If you cancel more than 6 weeks before the arrival date the deposit is retained.
  • If you cancel less than 6 weeks before the arrival date the full amount is retained, less the value of any beds we re-let.
  • A small admin fee will be charged on all cancellations.

Notes on Bookings

  • Once a booking is accepted and the deposit received the price is fixed.
  • If we are knackered, busy or away, some facilities may not always be available.
  • Our booking conditions consist of any material published advertising our hostel including the contents of this web page.
  • Scottish weather and snow conditions can be unpredictable; you should plan an alternative programme.

Your Reservation

  • We expect to deal with you as group leader / organiser.
  • If you are not planning to come to the hostel, you need to appoint a substitute who must identify themselves to us on arrival.
  • Every member of your party must comply with these booking conditions.
  • These conditions are effective from the date you make your reservation, including any extensions of time to your original booking. 

Insurance

  • We have our own third party liability insurance a copy of the certificate is available on request.
  • We do not accept liability for any personal injury, loss or damage that may be sustained you or your group during your stay at Newtonmore Hostel, except where it may arise from our negligence.
  • We recommend you take out your own holiday insurance.

Arrival

  • To allow us to prepare the hostel for you and your group please arrive after 3pm on your first day.
  • You should check the hostel on arrival and report any shortcomings; damage or missing items should be reported to us immediately. 
  • You can bring any number in your group, up to the number of beds you have booked.  
  • All booked beds must be paid for.

During your Stay

  • Drugs & Gambling are not allowed.
  • Alcohol is allowed providing you are old enough and reasonably quiet.
  • You are asked to take good care of the Hostel and its equipment during your stay. 
  • It is your responsibility to look after and take care of your possessions, valuables and money during your stay.
  • We do not accept any liability for loss or damage to vehicles.
  • Let us know in the unlikely event of any property being lost or stolen during your stay.
