CAIRNGORM CYCLING CLUB
Cairngorm Cycling Club Cartoon

The relatively small population of Badenoch and Strathspey means there is only a small number of cycling enthusiasts spread over a wide area. The Club has about twenty-five members living from Newtonmore to Grantown. Ages range from youngsters to 'vets'. The Club holds rides and races all year.  Club members ride/race both on and off road and no distinction is made between road and MTB riders. Cyclists of all persuasions are welcome.Club rides vary from social events to hard training rides. Non-members are very welcome, but if attending on a regular basis are expected to pay the Club membership fee (£10 seniors, £4 under 18, £25 family).

Strathspey Shenanigan - 22/09/07

1st Andrew Martin 02.17.17
8th Peter Bennett 02.50.56
13th Peter Main 03.00.56

Thirty three racers & fun riders completed the full course (37 miles) on a cool but fine day that was suitable for big efforts and hard riding. Peter Bennett did a stormer of a ride finishing very fast and was second in the 60+ category. Pete Main slowed a but in the last hour but was still satisfied with his ride. More importantly, funds were raised for Highland Hospice and it is hope that anyone reading this who has not completed this excellent event will come along and support it next year. It's very well organised, a superb route and a great atmosphere and the hospice needs all the money it can get. A worthwhile cause that should be better supported and a wonderful day out.

See you next year.
